Abstract

Education plays important role in the development of human being, it imparts value to human life, every aspect of human life is related to the type of education the individual receives. Education is of two types i.e. formal education and informal education, informal education starts with the birth and ends with the death of that individual. Society, culture and family are the sources of informal education which is not bound by the four walls. School, colleges and universities offer formal education, the child's formal education commences at the school and the school prepares the child for higher education. The formal teaching which starts from the school days becomes the foundation stone of a person's educational development. The present focusses on the importance of teaching, its meaning, the role of ICT in education and the attributes of a good teacher.
